Biography
Christopher FarrellChristopher Farrell is a film and television composer who has scored over twenty-five feature films and has written music and lyrics for over a dozen songs for films.

Born in New Orleans on January 27 - sharing his birthday with Wolfgang Mozart - Chris showed an interest in music from an early age. As a teenager growing up in Virginia, he played lead guitar in local garage bands and was influenced by every style of music from the Beatles to Bartok to the Dixieland jazz that his father and uncle played.

He graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Music Composition. He also attended the Eastman School of Music and later the UCLA Film Scoring Program as well as the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop. While cutting his teeth scoring student films at USC, AFI and UCLA, Farrell became friends with composer Christopher Young who provided him valuable guidance and encouragement.

His first feature was the low budget sci-fi action film "Death Zone". "At the end of the project I wasn't sure if the director was pleased. I was so surprised when I got a call a few weeks later from his producer friend who said I had been recommended and asked if I would like to score two more films." One of those films was the action thriller "Double Threat" starring Academy Award winner Sally Kirkland.

Chris went on to score the music for three Roger Corman films, as well as a variety of independent films. In addition to composing underscore, Farrell also has written numerous songs. He wrote the song Seeing You Again for the film "Swing", starring Jonathan Winters and Jacqueline Bissett, which won Best Soundtrack in a Feature Film at the Latin USA International Film Festival, New York, 2003. He has collaborated with a variety of pop/rock recording artists including Interscope Records' Kevin Carlberg and LA Recording Artist, Chadwick, who performed his title song "One Helluva Ride" for the documentary, "Steve McQueen, An American Rebel". Farrell's action/horror score for "Nightmare Man" won the tabloid Witch Award, Best Soundtrack for 2006.

Farrell continues to win recognition from filmmakers for his musical sensitivity and versatility. His most recent projects in the horror genre include "Claustrophobia", Lions Gate Entertainment, and "Blue Demon", a score praised by director/producer Dan Grodnik ("Powder", "Terror Train"): "I don't know what I would have done without Chris' score; his music exceeded my expectations."

Farrell has long-standing relationships with several directors and producers including Rolfe Kanefsky who has asked him to score his last eight films including: the award winning "Tomorrow by Midnight" starring Carol Kane and Alexis Arquette; the acclaimed comedy/horror "The Hazing" starring Brad Dourif; and "Nightmare Man" which was selected as one of Horror Fests theatrically released "Eight Films to Die For" (Released by Lions Gate Entertainment).
